It was a wet and cool day for the competition hut the tempretature inside was hot and furious as the competitors took in seven different rounds of competition; four rounds with their selected teams of two for the Exhibition events, and three rounds individualy to determine the TOP GUN for Aircraft Structures for hte Aero Skills Mid-West Regional Finals.
The compettition kicked off at 1pm on Saturday, 8th September, and ran past 5pm due to the competition sites technical issues. All in all, a great day for everyone competing; having a chance to share techniques and learn off of like minded competitioes who all showed their passion for the craft. Drawsfor tickets to NASCAR's Brickyard 400 and to win a small 110v air compressor, completed the day for everyone.
The event organizer and Aero Skills developer Jay Logie said, "Indy and the Mid-West region in general has had some challenges getting the event going, however, pushing ahead and having an event here, the support showed very quickly and it's actually the competitors who made it al happen. A big thank to tem for stepping u and making this event happen!! We all now look forward to next years."
